What is pinning emails in the mobile app?

Pin an email you need to return to often; pinned emails appear in a separate section at the top of the folder, mailbox and filter you have open, so you do not need to scroll down the list. Who can do this: A user with write permission on the mailbox. The Pinned section shows the same scope as the folder/mailbox/label/unread filter currently open — when you switch to another folder, the section lists that folder's pinned emails.

Steps

  1. Open the email and tap Pin in the action buttons.

  2. When you return to the list, the email has moved to the Pinned section at the top of the folder 1. Tapping the section heading expands or collapses it; the pin icon on the row also appears on the email's row in its normal place.

  3. To remove it, open the email and tap the same button again; the button now reads Unpin and appears purple.

Result The Pinned section shows the same scope as the folder/mailbox/label/unread filter currently open — when you switch to another folder, the section lists the pinned mails of that folder. Pinning applies to the entire mailbox; everyone who shares the mailbox sees the same pinned mail.
Caution The Pinned section is not shown in search results — search does not separate folders anyway, so a pinned scope would be meaningless.
