How to read the email and view the security result?

When you open an email, SmartMail displays the security result next to the sender's name and blocks remote images within the email until you grant permission. Who can do this: Any user with viewing permission in the mailbox. It opens in the mail reading area; the security result appears next to the sender's name, and the AI summary automatically appears in the right panel.

Steps

  1. From the Active mailbox selector in the top bar, select the mailbox you want to read. To see all mailboxes you have permission for in one list, select All mailboxes 1.

  2. Click the email you want to read in the list 2. The email opens in the reading pane on the right.

  3. Look at the security badge next to the sender name 3. When you click the badge, the reason for the result opens in detail.

  4. If remote images are blocked in the email, a warning appears above the reading pane. If you recognise the sender and need the images, click Show images 4.

Remember by senderIf your organization has enabled the "Remember shown images by sender" setting, you only need to click Show images once in an email from a sender; images in subsequent emails from that sender are shown automatically for you and you are not asked again. This is your decision only - it does not affect people you share the mailbox with. The setting is managed by the administrator from organization settings is toggled on and off; when off, it continues to be asked separately for each email.

ResultThe email opens in the reading area; the security result appears next to the sender's name and the AI summary appears automatically in the right panel.
Note Remote images may notify the sender that the email was read. Do not enable images from senders you do not know.
Email timeThe time shown in the list and reading pane is when the email reached you; sorting is based on this too. If the sender's computer clock is set incorrectly or the sender is in another time zone, a Sender's time line appears below the date and shows the sender's own time along with their time zone.
TipThe percentage in the badge is the confidence level; it uses the same scale as your organization's quarantine threshold, so the two can be compared directly.
