User who can see the email
How to preview and download attachments?
The user previews a file without downloading it by clicking an attachment in the Attachments section of the Summary & Details tab in the side panel. Who can do this: a user who can see the email. PDFs and images open directly, Office documents are previewed with an external viewer; use Download to get the file onto your computer. Office documents are sent to an external viewer for preview and this action is recorded in the audit log; Office files exceeding 10 MB are not previewed and are opened by downloading.
Steps
Open the email; attachments are in the Summary & Details tab on the right, in the Attachments section below the sender 1. (If the old layout has been restored from the view preference, they are below the email.) To download from preview, click the download icon on the right of the card.
Click the attachment you want to preview 2.

Note Office documents are sent to an external viewer for preview, and this is recorded in the audit log; Office files over 10 MB are not previewed and must be downloaded to open. For file types the browser cannot open, "This file type cannot be previewed in the browser." is displayed.
On phone In a phone browser (for example Chrome on Android), PDFs cannot be displayed inline; the window says "This browser cannot display the PDF inline." Tap Open PDF and the file opens in your phone's PDF app.
TipTo see the attachment content without opening it, use the AI attachment analysis use: parties, dates and amounts are listed as cards.
Saving to SmartFilesIf your organization also uses SmartFiles, the folder button on the attachment card (or Save to SmartFiles from the right-click menu) opens a selection window: areas in SmartFiles where you have write permission are listed, and if your organization's email attachments area is configured, it is preselected. If you want, expand subfolders with the arrows and select a folder; if you do not select one, the attachment is saved to the root of the area. The attachment is saved with Save here, and the result appears below the cards. Folders you do not have permission to see, hidden folders or folders in the trash are not listed. If you do not have write permission for any area, the window says so; contact your area administrator for permission.
