What are keyboard shortcuts?
Most tasks in the SmartFiles panel are done with the keyboard: jumping to search, navigating between items in the list, opening an item, going up to the parent folder, deselecting, and switching tabs in the details panel. Who can do it: User. Search, navigation, and opening tasks are done without touching the mouse. While in a text field (search box, note, rename), arrow keys, Backspace, and Esc work within the text field; shortcuts become valid when exiting the text field.
Steps
"Ctrl + K (on Mac ⌘ + K) jumps to the search box at the top 3.
Focus on an item in the file list; arrow keys navigate between items, staying in the same column with ↑ and ↓ in the grid. Home goes to the first item, End to the last. The details of the focused item open on the right.
"Enter opens the focused folder or previews the file; Backspace or Alt + ↑ navigates to the parent folder.
"Esc deselects; the details panel shows the folder you are currently in. If a window is open, it closes it first.
Focus on a tab in the details panel; ← and → switch between tabs.
With preview open, ← and → navigate to the previous and next files in the folder; Esc closes the preview.
Hold Ctrl (on Mac, ⌘) and click items to select multiple. While writing a note, Ctrl + Enter sends the note.
