A user with AI permission selects a folder and clicks Summarize folder with AI. SmartFiles writes a brief folder summary based on AI summaries of up to 200 documents in the folder and its subfolders: what is in the folder, what seems missing, and what needs attention. Private folders inaccessible to the user are not included in the summary. Details: AI document analysis.

How to summarise a folder using AI?

A user with AI permissions selects a folder and clicks 'Summarise folder with AI'. Who can do this: User; AI permission in the area; AI enabled in the organisation. The summary is displayed on screen but not saved; you can regenerate it when changing folders. SmartFiles writes a brief folder summary based on AI summaries of up to 200 documents in the folder and its subfolders: what is in the folder, what appears missing, and what requires attention.

Steps

  1. Select the folder to be summarised; find the FOLDER SUMMARY section in the details panel.

  2. Click Summarize folder with AI.

  3. Summary and the number of documents it is based on appear within a few seconds.
