Project status update

Communicate the project’s progress to the team and, optionally, to the customer at a glance: mark the status as On Track, At Risk, or Delayed, and write a short note. The draft can be generated by AI from the project data. Updates are stored in the Project Status tab along with history.

What is a project status update?

Give your team and optionally your customer a quick overview of the project's progress: mark the status as On Track, At Risk, or Delayed, and write a short note. Who can do it: Write update: project manager; Read: everyone in the project; customer: only what is shared with them. Everyone in the project receives a notification (depending on email preferences).

Writing an update

  1. Open the Status tab in the project.

  2. Instead of writing manually, you can click Draft with AI 1: artificial intelligence reviews tasks completed in the last week, late and upcoming tasks, recent comments, and previous updates to suggest a status and a bulleted note.

  3. Select the status: On Track, At Risk, or Late 2. Write the note or edit the draft; you can use bullet points (-) and **bold** text.

  4. If there is a customer in the project and you want them to see the update, check Share with Customer. Then click Share.

Result Everyone in the project receives a notification (depending on email preferences). The latest status appears as a coloured badge in the project title and on the dashboard card on the Dashboards page; clicking the badge opens the Status tab.

Reading the history

Updates are listed with the newest at the top 1; each entry shows status, author, time, and whether it was shared with the customer. The author can delete their own update, and the project manager can delete all updates using the trash icon.

Tip Writing an update once a week ensures the team and customer stay aligned. If the last update is older than a week, the Status tab reminds you.
Note The AI draft is not saved automatically; review and edit it before sharing. Using the AI draft consumes your AI usage allowance.
