What are recurring tasks?

For regular tasks such as weekly reports, monthly invoice checks, or daily backups, set the card to recur. Who can do what: Project manager; Member. The card shows a recurrence icon on the board. When the card is completed, a copy with the next date is automatically created. The next date is calculated from the card's end date; if there is no end date, from the start date; if neither exists, from today.

Steps

  1. Open the card. In the card window, click the button next to Recurrence that says Does not repeat.

  2. Select frequency: Daily, Working days, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly 1. Enter how many units between repetitions in the Every box; e.g., every 2 weeks.

  3. You can select specific days for weekly recurrence (e.g., Monday and Thursday). If no day is selected, the same day as the card's end date is used each week.

  4. If there is an end date for the recurrence, fill in End date, then click Save.

Result The card shows a recurrence icon on the board. When you move the card to the completed list or check the box next to the end date, a new card is opened with the same title, description, priority, members, labels, and unchecked checklists. The new card's dates are advanced according to the rule, preserving the duration between start and end. The recurrence rule applies to the new card; the completed card remains unchanged.
Tip The next date is calculated from the card's end date; if there is no end date, from the start date; if neither exists, from today. The Working days option uses the project's working days. On months without certain days (e.g., the 31st), the last day of the month is used. The new card opens in the same list if the list is incomplete, otherwise in the first incomplete list. Subtasks are not copied. To stop recurrence, click Remove recurrence.
