Undoing and redoing changes (Ctrl+Z)

Undo your last change on the board, list, or Gantt chart with Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac), and redo it with Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y. All changes made together—linked cards moving, a plan being set, or an assistant’s message—are undone in one step.

What is undoing and redoing changes (Ctrl+Z)?

Use Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) to undo your last change on the board, list or Gantt; use Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y to redo it. Who can do this: Project manager; Project member. Linked cards that move together, plan setups, and all changes made by the assistant in a single message are undone as one step.

Steps

  1. Move a card in a project, change its date, drag it in Gantt, or assign a label or person.

  2. Press Ctrl+Z (on Mac Cmd+Z). The change is undone and a message appears at the bottom showing what was reverted 1.

  3. Press again to step back through older actions one by one. If you change your mind, use Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y to redo.

What gets undone?

  • Opening a card (undone cards go to archive), title, description, list, order, date, priority, progress, cover, archiving.
  • All linked cards and phases that move together in Gantt; adding and changing dependencies.
  • Assigning people and labels, checklists and items, adding lists and labels, project name and colour.
  • Plans created from documents or via the assistant, and all changes made by the assistant in a single message (one step).
Warning You can only undo your own changes. If someone else modifies a card after you have, that step cannot be undone and a warning will appear. Deleting cards, comments, files and time logs cannot be undone; prefer archiving before deleting.
Tip While typing in a text box, Ctrl+Z undoes what you typed (browser behaviour). The last 50 steps are saved per project; performing a new change clears previously redactable steps.
