# Identifying compatible tools

Adding compatible vehicles to your spare parts and accessories products. Customers select their vehicle in the storefront and see only compatible products; the product page indicates whether the part fits their vehicle.

## How to define compatible vehicles?

Adding compatible vehicles to your spare parts and accessories products. Who can do this: Store owner; User with permission to edit products. Customers select their vehicle in the storefront and see only compatible products; the product page indicates whether the part fits their vehicle. The selected vehicle is remembered in the customer's browser; when they switch to another category, the selector defaults to the same vehicle.

## Adding a vehicle to a product

In the panel, open **Products** and click on a product. Open the **Compatible vehicles** section at the bottom of the window. 1 Use **Add vehicle** to enter one vehicle per row: make, model, start year, end year, and optionally engine type. 2 When finished, click the **Save** button in the window; the vehicle list is saved with the product.

- If **Model** is left blank, the part is compatible with all models of that make.

- If **Year** is left blank, there is no limit in that direction. Entering only the start year means "that year and onwards"; entering only the end year means "that year and earlier".

- A maximum of 300 vehicles can be added to one product. If the same vehicle is entered twice, it is saved only once.

## Bulk add

Instead of entering many vehicles one by one, click **Add bulk** 3 and paste one vehicle per line. Format Brand / Model / Year / Engine; model and onwards are optional:

Renault / Clio / 2012-2019 / 1.5 dCi Dacia / Sandero / 2013- Volkswagen / Golf / -2020 Fiat

Enter years in formats such as 2015, 2012-2019, 2012-, or -2019. To include all models, leave the model field blank or enter *: Renault / * / 2015-. The **Copy list** button copies the list to the clipboard in the same format, allowing you to paste it into similar products.

Use the compatible_vehicles column for bulk upload via Excel or CSV. Separate vehicles with |: Renault / Clio / 2012-2019 | Dacia / Sandero. If a product has multiple rows (variants), vehicles are merged. If the column is empty, the product's existing vehicle list remains unchanged; use the product window to clear the list.

## "My Vehicle" selector in the storefront

If at least one product with vehicle information is on sale in your store, a **My Vehicle** selector appears at the top of category and search pages. The customer selects the make, model, and year, then clicks **Show matching parts**. 1 The list filters to show only products compatible with that vehicle and displays the count. 2 Clicking **Remove vehicle** restores the full list of products.

The makes and models in the selector are built from the vehicles you have entered; you do not need to maintain a separate list. Products without vehicle information (e.g., cleaning products compatible with all vehicles) will not appear in the list when a vehicle is selected.

**Tip**The selected vehicle is remembered in the customer's browser; when they switch to another category, the selector defaults to the same vehicle. Pages with a selected vehicle are hidden from search engines, but your category page itself remains indexed.

## Compatibility on the product page

If the customer has previously selected their vehicle, the product page indicates whether the part fits their vehicle below the 'Add to Cart' button. 1 A **Compatible vehicles** table appears below. 2 If more than eight vehicles are listed, the table collapses by default; the customer can expand it to view details.

## SmartOperator

If SmartOperator is connected, the assistant retrieves the list of compatible vehicles along with product information and searches for parts that match the vehicle specified by the visitor.
