# Attaching files to tasks and projects

You attach design drafts, contracts, or logos sent by the customer to the relevant task or directly to the project. All project files are displayed together in the Files tab.

- Project manager

- Project Member

- Customer (for tasks open to them)

## Attaching a file to a task

- Open the task panel and scroll down to the Files section.

- Click Add file and select one or more files 1. You can drag and drop files from your computer onto this section or the open card window.

- A progress bar appears below the file during upload. When complete, the file is added to the list 2.

> Result: The file appears on everyone who can view the task's dashboard with its size, uploader, and time. It is also recorded in the task's activity history.

## Drag and drop a file onto the board

- Drop files from your computer onto a card: the files are added to that card, and the attachment count on the card increases.

- Drop files into an empty area of a list: each file creates a new card in that list with the file name. Visual files (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP) become the card cover 3.

- When dragging, the target list or card frame is highlighted, and a message appears at the bottom indicating what will happen; progress is shown during upload.

## Adding a file to the project and viewing all files

- Open the Files tab in the project. Files added to the project and those added to tasks are listed with the newest at the top.

- Files added here via Add file are linked to the project, not to a specific task.

- Check the Customer sees box for project files you want your customer to see 1.

- You can open a task by clicking the task name next to its file 2.

> Tip: Visibility of task files to the customer depends on the task itself: if the task is open to the customer, its files are also open.

## Opening and deleting a file

- Click the file name. PDFs, images, and plain text files open in a new tab; others are downloaded to your computer.

- You can delete your own uploaded files using the trash icon. The project manager can delete all files in the project.

> Warning: Deleted files cannot be recovered. When a task or project is deleted, its files are also deleted.

## Limits

- Maximum 250 MB per file; 50 MB for users with the customer role.

- Executable files (e.g., .exe, .bat, .msi, .js, .ps1) cannot be uploaded for security reasons.

- Files are deducted from your organisation's DBLinx storage space.
