# Notifications and email preferences

You receive notifications when a task is assigned to you, a comment is written on your task, you are mentioned in a comment, a task is completed, and one day before the due date. Notifications are collected in the bell icon in the top bar; if desired, they also arrive via email.

- All users

## Steps

- Click the bell icon in the top bar. The number of unread notifications appears on the bell 1.

- Click a notification: it is marked as read and the related task opens 2.

- To close all at once, click Mark all as read.

- Select your preference from the Email list at the bottom 3.

## When do you receive notifications?

- Task assigned: when someone assigns you a task.

- Comment: when a comment is added to a task you were assigned to or created.

- Mention: when your name is mentioned with @ in a comment.

- Completed: when a task you were assigned to or created is moved to a column considered 'done'.

- Deadline tomorrow: in the morning, one day before the deadline of an assigned and incomplete task.

- Status update: when the project manager updates the project status; clicking the notification opens the project's Status tab. Customers only receive notifications for updates shared specifically with them.

> Tip: You do not receive notifications for actions you perform yourself. Users with the customer role only receive notifications for tasks open to them.

## Email preferences

- Instant: each notification arrives as a separate email. This is the default.

- Daily summary: notifications are collected and arrive in a single email every morning after 08:00.

- Off: no emails are sent; notifications appear only on the bell.

> Result: Emails arrive at the address in your DBLinx account; the sender is the DBLinx notification address. Each email contains a link to open the task.
