# Managing cards and lists on the board

The Kanban tab shows the project as a board: each list is a status, each card is a task. You drag and drop cards and lists to organise them, quickly add cards from the bottom of a list, scroll and zoom the board.

- Project administrator (everything including lists)

- Project member (cards)

- Watcher and customer (view only)

## Moving a card

- Open the Kanban tab of the project.

- Drag the card and drop it in another list or in another place in the same list 1. An empty card space opens where you drop it; the board scrolls automatically as you approach the edge.

- Release the card. On touch screens, press and hold the card briefly before dragging.

> Result The card's status and order are saved; the change is immediately visible on everyone's board who has the project open. A task dropped into a list marked "Done" is considered completed.

## Adding a card and list

- Click Add card at the bottom of the list, write the title and press Enter. The box stays open; you can add cards one after another. Close with Esc.

- Open a new list with Add another list at the end of the board (project manager).

- Edit the title directly from the board by clicking the pencil icon on the card.

## Editing lists

- Change the list order by dragging its title left or right.

- Rename the list by clicking its name.

- From the … menu on the list header, sort cards by due date, name or recency, move all cards to another list or archive them, mark the list as 'done'; delete an empty list.

## Quickly editing a card and shortcuts

- Click the pencil icon that appears when hovering over the card (or press e): the card enlarges in place, fix its title and use the buttons next to it to add tag, member, cover, date, move, copy and archive without leaving the board 2.

- When the mouse is over a card, l opens labels, m opens members, d opens dates; Space adds or removes you from the card, c archives the card, Enter opens the card.

- n adds a card to the list where the mouse pointer is, q shows only cards assigned to you, f opens the filter, x clears the filter. ? shows all shortcuts.

## Board title, lists and archive

- Click the board name to rename it; star the board to pin it to the top of the homepage and menu; Share to add people to the team.

- Collapse the list into a thin strip using the collapse button in the list header; click the strip to expand it again. You can copy or archive the list from the … menu.

- You can view archived cards and lists in Archived items in the board menu and send them back to the board. Activity shows all movements on the board with the newest at the top.

## Scrolling, zooming and filtering the board

- Pan horizontally and vertically by holding and dragging an empty area of the board.

- Zoom in using the − and + buttons at the bottom right or the mouse wheel while holding Ctrl (Cmd on Mac); clicking the percentage resets to 100%. Your chosen zoom level is remembered per project.

- Filter cards by keyword, member, tag, priority or due date (overdue, until tomorrow, within 7 days, dateless); the filter also applies in Table and Calendar tabs and can be saved .

- Clicking card labels shows or hides label names. You can change the background colour and view archived cards from the board menu.

> Tip Badges on the card give information at a glance: due date (green: completed, yellow: approaching, red: overdue), description, comment and file count, checklist progress, number of sub-tasks and customer approval.
