# Adding milestones

You mark significant single-day events such as approvals, deliveries, or releases as milestones; they appear as diamond shapes on the Gantt diagram.

## Steps

- Open the task's panel.

- Enter the start date.

- In Options on the properties ribbon of the card window, turn on the Milestone switch 1.

> Result: The task end date is set equal to the start date; a diamond appears in the diagram, and a small diamond appears before the name in the list and Kanban.

> Tip: You can also link milestones: making the 'Design approval' milestone a predecessor of 'Front-end development' will shift the development if the approval slips.
