# Adding tags to conversations

Tags group conversations by topic; used for filtering in the list and viewing distribution in reports.

## How to add tags to conversations?

Tags group conversations by topic; used for filtering in the list and viewing distribution in reports. Who can do this: Company administrator and agents. A tag is at most 40 characters long; up to 10 tags can be added to a conversation. Open the conversation; find the Tags field at the top of the User tab in the right panel.

## Steps

Open the conversation; find the **Tags** field at the top of the **User** tab in the right panel 1.

Type the tag and press Enter. Previously used tags appear as suggestions.

Filter conversations with that tag by clicking the tag chip in the list or typing #tag in the search.
