# Sending bulk email to a distribution list

A bulk send sends a **separate** email to each person in a distribution list; recipients cannot see each other's addresses. The **{ad}** you enter in the text is replaced with each recipient's name from the list. Sending is done in batches and rate-limited to protect your domain's reputation.

- Administrator (permission to manage mailboxes) and the sender with write permission on the mailbox

## How to send bulk email to a distribution list?

Bulk send sends a separate email to each person in a distribution list; recipients do not see each other's addresses. Who can do this: An administrator (with permission to manage mailboxes) and a user with write permission on the sending mailbox. The send is queued and sent in small batches at short intervals. The {ad} you type in the text is replaced with each recipient's name in the list.

## Steps

In SmartMail Management, open **Bulk send** from the menu on the left and click **New bulk send** 1.

Select the **Sender mailbox** and **Distribution list**, enter the **Subject** and **Email body**. In the body, write **{ad}** where you want the recipient's name to appear.

To send now, click **Start sending**; if you want to send later, select **Send time** or save it with **Save draft**.

The row of an ongoing send shows **Live**; the number of emails sent, remaining and errors is updated every few seconds 2. If needed, pause with **Pause** 3 and resume with **Resume**; **Cancel** completely ends sending to the remaining recipients. **Report** shows the status of each recipient.

**Result**The send is queued and sent in small batches at short intervals. An unsubscribe link is automatically added to the bottom of each email. In the sender mailbox's **Sent** folder, the send appears as a single row rather than recipient by recipient; for example, "Suppliers · 45 recipients".

**For your domain's reputation**If the sender mailbox's domain does not have SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, sending does not start and the missing record is reported. 30 emails per minute and 2,000 per day are sent per mailbox; 60 emails per minute per organization. Addresses that unsubscribe or permanently bounce from the mail server are skipped in subsequent sends. If the bounce rate is high, sending stops automatically; clean the list and start a new send.

**Marketing emails**Commercial messages such as promotions and campaigns require recipients' consent; consent and İYS (Message Management System) registration are the responsibility of the sending organization.
