# Signing in with a QR code

You can log into your phone from your SmartMail session open on your computer without typing a password.

## How do you sign in with a QR code?

You can log into your phone from your SmartMail session open on your computer without typing a password. Who can do this: Users who have logged into SmartMail on their computer. Your phone logs into the same company as the account on the computer. The code is valid for a short time. If you previously denied camera permission, you can grant it from phone settings by opening Settings. Open SmartMail on your computer and select 'Sign in with QR' from the menu in the top right.

## Steps

Open SmartMail on your computer and select **Sign in with QR** from the menu in the top right. A code appears on the screen.

On your phone, tap the **Sign in with QR** button at the bottom of the login screen.

The app says **Camera permission required** 1. Tap **Allow** 2.

Hold your phone up to the code on the computer. Once the code is read, **Signing in…** appears and your inbox opens.

**Result** Your phone signs in to the same company as the account on the computer. The session on the computer remains open.

**Note** The code is valid for a short time. If the warning **Code expired. Check the code on the desktop again and scan it again.** appears, check the code on the computer again and scan it again.

**Note** The camera only works while this screen is open; no image is recorded or sent anywhere.

**Tip** If you previously denied camera permission, you can grant it from your phone settings with **Open settings**.
