# Previewing the attachment

You open and preview PDF, image, and Office attachments without leaving the SmartMail mobile app.

## How to preview the attachment?

You open and preview PDF, image, and Office attachments without leaving the SmartMail mobile app. Who can do this: Any user logged into the app. When a password-protected PDF opens, it says "This document is password protected"; enter the document's password. Open the email and scroll to the attachments section. Tap the card of the attachment you want to preview.

## Steps

Open the email and scroll to the attachments section. Each attachment shows the file type icon, name, type and size.

Tap the card of the attachment you want to preview. The attachment opens in full screen 1.

To close, tap the X in the top right 2.

**Note** When opening a password-protected PDF, **This document is password protected** is displayed; enter the document's own password. This is not your SmartMail password.

**Note** A warning appears before opening an attachment in an email deemed risky. Make sure the sender is someone you actually know.

**Note** Office documents open in the Microsoft viewer. Office files larger than 10 MB cannot be previewed; download and open them.
