## What is 'notification permission and notification sound'?

New mail arrives on your phone as a sound and a notification shown at the top of the screen from the "New mail" channel. Who can do this: Any user signed in to the app. Notifications received while the app is open also play a sound. On first sign-in, the app asks for notification permission; allow it. To grant permission later, open your phone's Settings > Apps > SmartMail > Notifications section and turn on notifications.

## To allow

On first login, the app asks for notification permission; allow it.

To grant permission later, open **Settings > Apps > SmartMail > Notifications** on your phone and turn on notifications 1.

## Adjusting sound and appearance

On the same screen, tap the **New emails** channel 2.

Change the settings for sound 3, vibration and appearing at the top of the screen 4 as you wish.

**Note** Notifications received while the app is open also play a sound. If you grant permission later, just open the app once; registration is done automatically.
