# Write the email with AI

With **Write with AI** in the compose window, the user describes what they want to write in a short instruction; the AI prepares the email text. They can continue an existing text with **Continue** or translate it into another language with **Translate**. Other AI capabilities [AI](/en/smartmail/yapay-zeka) is explained on the page.

## How to write the email with AI?

The user describes what they want to write with a short instruction using Write with AI in the compose window; the AI prepares the email text. Who can do this: a user with write permission on the mailbox. The prepared text appears in the email body. They can continue an existing text with Continue and translate it into another language with Translate.

## Steps

In the compose window, click **Write with AI** 1.

In the field that opens, write what you want it to say 2, for example "let them know we postponed the meeting". To give multiple instructions, click **Add** after each one.

Click **Write** 3. The text is written into the email body. In a new email, if the subject is empty, AI also suggests a subject and writes it into the **Subject** field. You can edit both as you wish.

**Result**The generated text appears in the email body. When writing a reply to an email, AI also considers the content of the email being replied to.

**Attention**Always read the text generated by AI before sending; it may contain missing or incorrect information.

**Tip**To continue your own text, use **Continue**; to translate it into another language, use **Translate**; both wait for you to enter some text first. **Improve with AI** in the send preview corrects the text's language and flow.

## Draft completion: canned response suggestions

When you open **Write with AI** while replying to an email with an empty body, 2-3 short reply options prepared in advance by AI appear above the instruction field under the **Quick suggestions** heading. Clicking one writes the text directly into the body - you do not need to press **Write** as well, and no second AI request is sent. The same suggestions can also be requested in the email reader with the **Quick reply suggestions** button (see.
