# Send a password link

The DBLinx organization panel generates a single-use link for a person to set or reset their SmartID password. If the person has an email address, the link is sent by email; otherwise, you copy the link and pass it on yourself.

## How do I send a password link?

The DBLinx organization panel generates a single-use link for a person to set or reset their SmartID password. Who can do this: the organization's tenant administrators. The person opens the link, sets their password, and signs in to the products they have access to. If the person has an email address, the link is sent by email; otherwise, you copy the link and pass it on yourself.

## Steps

- **Users** screen, open the person's card; people who haven't set a password are flagged separately in the list.

- **SmartID password** in the **"Create password setup/reset link"**to remove it.

- 2Creates the link

- If the link couldn't be sent by email, **"Copy link"**click it and pass it on to the person.

**Result** The person opens the link, sets their password, and signs in to the products they have access to.

**The link can't be created.** The person needs access to at least one product or tenant administrator rights.
