# What happens when the quota is full

In DBLinx products, quotas are set by the plan. When storage or the monthly AI entitlement runs out, products protect your data and state the situation clearly; code-level security checks keep running regardless of quota.

## What happens when a quota runs out?

In DBLinx products, quotas are set by the plan. Who can do this: the organization's tenant administrators; users. No data is lost when a quota runs out; once the quota is raised or a new month begins, products pick up right where they left off. When storage or the monthly AI entitlement runs out, products protect your data and state the situation clearly; code-level security checks keep running regardless of quota.

## Steps

- **If SmartFiles storage is full:** a new upload is rejected before it starts, and you're notified; no partial file is created. Access to existing files continues.

- **If SmartMail storage is full:** warnings increase in stages as usage rises; once it's completely full, new mail stops arriving, but mail already on the server stays safe. The "Free up space" screen shows what's taking up space.

- **If the AI entitlement runs out:** products show the message **"This month's AI entitlement is used up. Your administrator can buy more tokens."** AI actions such as summarizing and analysis stop; access to files and mail continues.

- To raise the quota, move up to a higher plan, or contact us for extra entitlement.

**Result** No data is lost when a quota runs out; once the quota is raised or a new month begins, products pick up right where they left off.

**Do security checks stop?** Code-level checks such as SPF, DKIM, DMARC and domain verification run independently of the AI entitlement.
